New Moon in Capricorn, January 11, 2024

New Moon in Capricorn, January 11, 2024 – 11:57 GMT

The New Moon in Capricorn on January 11, 2024, is an opportunity for a reset, a chance to adjust the inner compass. All planets, except Uranus, are now going direct, setting the course for their passage through the year. Uranus is making the closest aspect to the New Moon, only rivalled by the Lunar Nodes.

The Nodes continue to cycle through Aries and Libra, drawing attention to the tension between personal and collective goals. Aries naturally wants to be a leader, but a genuine leader prioritises the community’s interests over their own. As individuals, we have needs and desires. But as members of society, our personal desires sometimes conflict with the collective needs and goals of the social world. There is no hard and fast solution but a constant balancing act.

The New Moon in Capricorn is ambitious, strategic, and goal-oriented. The square with the nodes signifies a conflict of interest. Capricorn is considered a community pillar, but his labours are not entirely selfless. Capricorn expects others to put their agendas aside to support him, in the name of the greater good, of course. But who reaps the benefits, really? Those who made the sacrifices all too often become mere stepping stones.

New Moon trine Uranus

The New Moon trines retrograde Uranus in Taurus. The troublesome energy brings an electric dynamism to the picture. Uranus’ unconventional shenanigans are not always welcome, but they surely stir things up and put everyone on edge.

Venus in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries

Venus in Sagittarius seeks fun and adventure, but the square with Chiron suggests a conflict or wound. Perhaps this is a signature of the loneliness pandemic the WHO recently has drawn attention to.

Mars sextile Saturn
Mars trine Jupiter
Jupiter sextile Saturn

Saturn is the midpoint of the trine between Mars and Jupiter. Mars trine Jupiter in the earth signs signifies a push for economic growth and strategic investment. Saturn in Pisces between Jupiter and Mars introduces the topic of economic justice for the victims of greed and raises the issue of taking responsibility for such abuse of economic power.

Mercury square Neptune
Mercury semi-sextile Pluto

Mercury, in combination with Neptune and Pluto, is a powerfully persuasive force. Pay attention to attempts of manipulation. Know where you stand and use your personal values as a guide. Mercury is a master of word magic.
