Mercury will be passing through Pisces from March 15 – April 04, 2021

After an extended stay in Aquarius, going back and forth to sort things out, Mercury is now ready to move on and enter Pisces. The contrast between the two signs is huge.  Although Mercury is not exactly at home with the water element, he can still make some positive waves. It just depends on how you are going to use it. Flow thinking is what is called for.

According to psychology, there are two modes of thinking, focused attention and diffused thinking. Neither is better than the other. Both are necessary if you want to use your brain optimally. The diffuse thinking mode lets the brain connect the dots, make connections between different associations and create neural networks.

Astrologers would argue that there are at least 10 other modes of thinking, but the diffuse mode is very much a Pisces mode of thinking, so don’t beat yourself up if your brain does not want to go down the normal straight and narrow neural path. Allow yourself to amble down some less frequently visited tracks.

The downside of Mercury in Pisces is – it can be disorganized, or get overwhelmed quite easily. If letting go of mental controls scares you, there can be a boomerang reaction. In an attempt to protect yourself from the chaos, you may become obsessively tidy. Or not, as the case may be, in which case, chaos reigns supreme.

Mercury in Pisces can show a lot of empathy when dealing with other people, activating every single mirror-neuron available. This is a rather engaging aspect of Mercury in this sign. But, no matter how much empathy and compassion we may carry in our hearts, we can not save the whole world. Mercury in Pisces can slip into the skin of another and almost literally see the world through their eyes.

Another rather lovely facet of Mercury in Pisces is its artistic vein, especially with words. This is a transit that wakes up the inner poet and can be a very inspirational, imaginative and creative time. Unless…there is a lack of motivation. Mercury in Pisces likes its creature comforts, along with a nice glass of wine, and, that poem he was going to write today? Oh well, it can wait until tomorrow…Procrastination is his pitfall. Mercury in Pisces can resist anything, except temptation, and temptations are everywhere.

Self-Presentation, Persona (1. House)

When Mercury passes through the first house, it is hard to pinpoint exactly which side he will show. He can be a bit chameleon-like, adapting to the circumstances and playing the role that others want to see. He can also be incredibly sensitive and intuitive. Those who are afraid to be touched by their own emotions are likely to try and escape from them, or the situations that stir them up.

Money, Values (2. House)

Mercury in Pisces is not exactly frugal. Money runs through his fingers like water. It is also the kind of combination that gives to charity or to an individual who is needy. The flow aspect of ‘money as energy’ is very relevant and important to this transiting Mercury.

Friends and Kin, Mental Processing (3. House)

Pisces is very impressionable and tends to always have an open ear for those in need, be it friends or family. But mind the spiritual and mental hygiene. Others often take advantage of Mercury in Pisces or use emotions to manipulate him.

Home and Family (4. House)

At home, Mercury in Pisces is trying to be and do everything for everybody. He listens to everybody’s problems and thinks it’s his job to solve them. This is a typical placement for the self-sacrificing parent or partner. Bonus advice: self-care is essential when trying to support others.

Creativity, Children (5. House)

When Mercury passes through the fifth house there is always a bit of an inner whirlwind.  In Pisces, this can be highly distracting. Whether it’s Mr or Ms Charming that is causing you to plunge into confusion, or a wave of creative inspiration is washing over you and sweeping you off your feet – Mercury will keep you busy. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Going with the flow might be your best option (flow as in bliss, not necessarily as in self-indulgence).

Health, Work, Service (6. House)

A visit from Mercury in the sixth house brings in a breath of fresh air, especially when the work sphere is service orientated. Mercury in Pisces has a client-centred, sympathetic approach. But, he can also be a bit disorganised and create confusion.

Partnership, Relationship (7. House)

Mercury in Pisces is a romantic at heart. He is the word’s best sweet-talker, but sometimes he seems to live in a fantasy world. This is a good transit fleeting fascination and chance encounters. It is also a good transit for a meeting of minds.

Shared Assets, Inner Resources (8. House)

When Mercury moves through a Pisces 8th house it might be the perfect time to consider raising money for a worthwhile cause. It is also a good time to mine the inner resources of the imagination or to engage in a spiritual practice to strengthen the inner core.

Travel, Study (9. House)

Mercury always enjoys travel – it’s his middle name. When passing through the ninth house and Pisces he has an affinity with watery places and activities. Sailing, wind-surfing, diving, a beach vacation are all very much his cup of tea. But on the other hand, he might also be inspired to go on a spiritual retreat or pilgrimage. Should none of these be possible, he is also very adept at travelling through the wild wonderland of his imagination.

Career, Status (10. House)

Pisces in the tenth house is all about serving a greater cause, working the benefit of something more than one’s own ego satisfaction. Mercury visiting this house is a great ambassador for his cause and can catch people’s imagination with an emotional appeal.

Community, In-Group (11. House)

Service to the community is an almost holy duty to Pisces in the eleventh house. When Mercury passes through, it brings liveliness to this domain, offering emotional support through networking and sharing. This is all about reaching out and connecting with others.

Spirituality, Transcendence (12. House)

The twelfth house is Pisces’ natural house. When Mercury passes through he may be called upon to be there for someone else, or he might find it is a good time to seek seclusion. Mercury here wants to merge with a greater whole, go beyond any confining concepts or categories. When Mercury passes through this house it is particularly important to decide which fish you want to float with.
