- Jupiter → Pisces: May 13, 2021
- Jupiter retrograde: June 20, 2021
- Jupiter re-enters Aquarius (R): July 28, 2021
On May 13, Jupiter dips his toes into the Piscean currents of consciousness for the first time. It is only a short visit. On June 20, he turns retrograde and retreats back into Aquarius on July 28.
In Aquarius, Jupiter is a humanist, full of lofty ideals. But in Pisces, he is a humanitarian, deeply empathic and compassionate.
Jupiter’s spiritual vision is holistic and awe-inspiring. In Pisces, his path is mystical rather than religiously dogmatic. Although he is fond of ceremonies, his spiritual revelation comes in dreams and meditation. He sensitizes us to the magic of everyday mindfulness. It is all a question of focus – the world changes through the way we look at it. Or, as Blake puts it:
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
But Pisces is a dual sign. While one fish swims up towards the light of consciousness, the other dives into the oceanic depth in search of the very source of life, the universe and everything.
Alas, where there is life there is also suffering and death. Pisces is acutely aware of this but Jupiter, the eternal optimist, manages to wrest meaning even from the experience of suffering. For Jupiter in Pisces, redemption is a path to transcendence.
Pisces is a boundless sign – it knows no limits. Jupiter as its ruler is similarly expansive. To direct this kind of energy can be a challenge. It ebbs and flows according to its own invisible currents. Thus, Jupiter’s grandiose visions can sometimes overwhelm the mind. It is a fine line between madness and creative chaos.
Jupiter in Pisces is so all-encompassing and thus highly ambiguous. Trying to unite all opposites he can lose orientation. Who is to say which point of view is more valid than the next? It is not easy to reach the state of mind in which all opposites merge into oneness.
Jupiter is an eternal optimist. In Pisces, he has a sixth sense that guides him intuitively so that he almost magically happens to be in the right place at the right time. The difference between good fortune and bad sometimes simply lies in whether we listen to that little voice. However, occasionally such a ‘winning streak’ can create the illusion of infallibility, which almost always leads to disaster.
Jupiter transits are usually positive, but he also has a shadow side: self-aggrandizing boastfulness, insatiable greed and excess. To get the most out of this transit, temper its energy with a sprinkling of humility and moderation.
Self-Presentation, Persona (1. House):
A Jupiter transit through the first house will not go unnoticed. Self-confidence and optimism are at a peak and you may feel that you can’t put a foot wrong. Or so it seems. Don’t let boastfulness trip you up. Jupiter certainly lifts the spirits but that does not impart infallibility.
Money, Values (2. House):
In the second house, Jupiter often brings ‘good money juju’. But faced with innumerable spending opportunities it will be hard to hold on to it. Allow yourself to dream: what would you like to spend money on if it suddenly came your way? Knowing your priorities before luck strikes will increase your chances that you will spend it on your dreams rather than frivolities.
Friends and Kin, Mental Processing (3. House):
When Jupiter transits the third house, it sparks an interest in developing new skills. Perhaps a close friend or relative inspires you to seek out all kinds of learning opportunities. Or, you may even embark on such an adventure together. Learning together is more fun and thus more fruitful.
Home and Family (4. House):
A Jupiter transit through the fourth house can bring big changes to your home situation. If you have been thinking about moving, now would probably be a good time. This type of transit often coincides with buying or selling property, or doing major refurbishing works on a house you already own.
Creativity, Children (5. House):
When Jupiter visits the house of creativity and self-expression expect a surge of creative energy. This type of transit can inspire tackling a major project while boosting your confidence to actually get it done.
However, this transit can be challenging for people with an addictive personality, particularly concerning gambling. Don’t gamble on more than you are willing to lose.
Health, Work, Service (6. House):
Jupiter passing through the sixth house brightens the way you feel about your daily chores and work routines. During this transit, they may take on more meaning and thus become more fulfilling. However, your enthusiasm can drive you to take on more than you can handle. Remember to include some self-care in your routines.
Partnership, Relationship (7. House):
A Jupiter transit through the seventh house benefits all kinds of relationships. Jupiter in Pisces is deeply empathic and sensitive to the needs of others. This benevolent influence marks a period of spiritual and personal growth through social interaction. However, you may find it hard to safeguard your boundaries and thus protect your personal space.
Shared Assets, Inner Resources (8. House):
Traditionally, Jupiter transiting through the eighth house was seen to indicate a possible inheritance or some other kind of financial or material windfall. But this transit is also a powerful aid to discovering inner strength and resources that enhance your resilience.
Travel, Study (9. House):
Jupiter is right at home in the ninth house and really gets a chance to shine. The urge to travel may be great, but so is the desire for self-development. This transit can signify embarking on a course of study or teaching. In Pisces, such outer growth is likely to go hand-in-hand with corresponding spiritual growth and self-development.
Career, Status (10. House):
When Jupiter transits the tenth house, career topics take up the front and centre of your mind. This period is likely to lift you a notch, advancing your career goals, perhaps through a promotion or an important award. It could also indicate an opportunity to change jobs and thus to grow by adapting to the new challenges.
Community, In-Group (11. House)
In the eleventh house, Jupiter engages with the wider community. Friendships that connect you to a common cause are particularly fulfilling. Shared ideals create strong bonds that can turn into an extended family.
Spirituality, Transcendence (12. House)
The twelfth house is Jupiter’s other domain and corresponds with the sign of Pisces. When passing through this section of the horoscope, Jupiter can bring a period of spiritual growth. Ego-goals fade into the background and altruistic ones come to the forefront. Self-reflection can be very beneficial while Jupiter is in this house. It makes it easier to understand the patterns of your life and to make sense of it all.
