Venus enters Libra
October 28 – November 21, 2020
Libra, the sign of the scales, is the natural domain of the Goddess of Love – it is one of her signs (the other being Taurus). This rulership feels entirely appropriate. After all, Libra is all about relationships, beauty, and balance.
However, we must not forget that Libra is an air sign and concerned with ‘ideals’, rather than reality, which is usually much messier. Libra idealizes the ‘idea of relationship’ and judges reality accordingly. Of course, it rarely, if ever comes up to her – often lofty or abstract, ideals.
But having a very keen eye for what is not balanced or in synch, she can quickly point the finger at ‘the problem’. Of course, the problem is usually something or someone other than herself.
Social interactions
Venus in Libra is a socialite. She needs people and in a sense, she finds herself through the interaction with others. Sometimes, however, she is overly concerned with being liked and will do almost anything to gain approval in the eyes of others, even if it is not in her interest. However, she actually often finds it difficult to know just what it is that SHE wants, as she is too busy trying to anticipate what other people want. If asked directly she is often indecisive. Others often find her irresistible because of her natural tendency to empathizes and see things their way. No wonder others do not really see or understand her for who she is.
Venus in the sign of the scales tends to rationalize feelings rather than owning them, especially when they are what she would deem unacceptable. Venus in Libra has a great sense of beauty which is grounded in artistic vision and the idea that art is the attempt to perfect nature. Sometimes, that is her whole philosophy to life. Needless to say, she loves to surround herself with beautiful objects. If she has the money and inclination, that will be a collection of fine art. If she doesn’t she will find other ways to celebrate beauty in her environment.
Self-Presentation, Persona (1. House)
When Venus passes through a Libran first house she is bound to make an impression. And chances are, she is well aware of it, too, and making the most of it. It’s a good time to spruce up the wardrobe or try out a new look.
Money, Values (2. House)
Venus in the second house enjoys the lush things in life. She likes to spend money on beautiful things – clothes, art, music, or books, for example. And she loves to indulge her fancies. If you were planning to start saving, you might want to wait until Venus has moved on into Scorpio.
Friends and Kin, Mental Processing (3. House)
In the third house, Venus is of course a socialite. Interactions with peers or siblings are very important to her. If that is not possible, her best friend is a book. This transit can also be very inspiring for creatives. Venus in Libra can be a real muse.
Home and Family (4. House)
When Venus moves through Libra in the fourth house the home atmosphere tends to be harmonious and amicable. Venus to surround herself with beauty, so she might well get inspired to beautify the home.
Creativity, Children (5. House)
Venus in the fifth house is a lovely transit for artistic pursuits – writing, painting, music, or dance – whatever you love. It is also a great time to engage with children and to play creatively with them.
Health, Work, Service (6. House)
In the sixth house, Venus in Libra is concerned with the work/life balance. This is a good time to look at aspects of your life that are not in balance and see if you can address those areas in order to tip the balance in the direction of greater health and well-being.
Partnership, Relationship (7. House)
The seventh house is associated with the sign of Libra (the seventh sign), so Venus feels right at home here. Her natural desire is to relate and she is in a flirtatious mood.
Shared Assets, Inner Resources (8. House)
Venus moving through a Libra eighth house is likely to focus on exchanges of money and values or legal matters pertaining to such things – as, for example, in a trade or business relationship. Civility, fairness and a focus on win-win is likely to produce the best results.
Travel, Study (9. House)
Venus moving through a Libra ninth house is ‘a culture vulture. She would love nothing better than an interesting art and culture focused trip somewhere nice, preferably in the company of her favorite person or a friend. If travel is not an option, Venus is happy to escape into a good book, providing there is some comfort food and maybe a cat for company.
Career, Status (10. House)
Venus in the tenth house is a good transit for showing empathic leadership. Show your staff that they matter. Those who are not in leadership positions may feel ambivalent as to what steps to take to further their career. Choose a path of beauty and love.
Community, In-Group (11. House)
When Venus is passing through the eleventh house, it is a great time for group activities. Community engagement is a great way to spread to love and make the world a better place.
Spirituality, Transcendence (12. House)
Venus moving through the twelfth house in Libra is idealistic. She may sacrifice her own needs for those of others and care for them selflessly. On the other hand, she can also be ‘über’-self-indulgent and lose herself in escapism. After all, the real world is pretty rough, right now.
