Full Moon in Pisces, partial lunar eclipse

The partial eclipse on the Full Moon in Pisces is conjunct retrograde Neptune. Some important issues are unclear, leading to emotional confusion or unrealistic expectations.

Sun opposite Moon conjunct Neptune retrograde

Retrograde Neptune is close to the Full Moon in Pisces and the nodal axis, amplifying the Moon’s sensitivity. The central issue of this Full Moon is the theme of sacrifice and service. Being there for others is a noble deed, but there may still be a desire to escape. Existential questions may arise. A spiritual/philosophical perspective helps, but keep it grounded in practical action.

Sun opposite Moon square Jupiter

The Full Moon is tied up in a T-square with Jupiter in Gemini, signalling a risk of overwhelm. Gemini tends to abstract and rationalise emotionally overwhelming matters. Emotional distancing is a defence mechanism that helps us to stay on top of things and in control.  Of course, this takes great effort and comes at a price. Another way to use this aspect is to re-frame the challenges we face in a positive light. Every difficulty is also an opportunity for growth.

Jupiter square Saturn opposite Mercury

The T-square between Saturn, Mercury and Jupiter highlights the need to revisit past decisions and grapple with the demands of the situation. Some difficult choices have to be made. Jupiter signals a danger of overwhelm but shows a way forward: Allow yourself to play with ideas and possibilities instead of getting bogged down by the dreary reality and its chores. This is a tough challenge in a situation that shows little reason for hope. But the mind remains free to play and to reinterpret reality, making it easier to cope and find new solutions and opportunities for growth.

Venus trine Jupiter
Venus opposite Chiron

This aspect shows a harmonious flow between Jupiter and Venus. It implies the blessing of supportive relationships and the healing potential of a respectful and open-hearted environment.

Sun semi-sextile Venus
Moon quincunx Venus

Venus awkwardly aspects both the Sun and Moon. Insecurity or fear may prevent us from showing our vulnerability or expressing our need for fear of burdening others. But showing vulnerability is a sign of strength. Trust is the deeper issue.

Mars square the Nodal Axis

Mars in Cancer is sensitive or even over-sensitive and over-protective. It has a narrow view of right or wrong and tends to be defensive and even vengeful if wronged. But instead of playing into such insecurities, we should recognise immature emotional defence strategies and avoid the blame game. Mars’ alignment with the axis of destiny triggers us to address the balance between personal needs and those of our nearest and dearest.

Kite

The Full Moon forms a kite with Pluto and Uranus as the peripheral points, although it is not a true kite. In a true kite, the apex would be the slowest planet, not the fastest. But still, it shows a further dimension of the Eclipse Full Moon. Uranus and Pluto are the touchstones, and Neptune reinforces the Moon.

Pluto has moved back into Capricorn and has nearly reached its final station before turning direct again in October. This configuration points towards the formative powers in operation. Pluto attends to some unfinished business in Capricorn, and Uranus challenges the status quo as the consensus of reality. Its sextile to the Moon and Neptune encourages us to re-envision the future.

Change is in the air. Climate change, wars, and social issues all pose great challenges. Technological innovations may help solve some of these problems, but may also create new ones.

The Sun/Moon/Neptune axis encourages us to approach these themes with intuition, creativity, and higher levels of consciousness, if we are to preserve our humanity instead of sacrificing it at the altar of technology and progress.
